A diagonal blue band (bend) cuts across the shield, adorned with three golden sheaves of wheat (garbs), a common symbol in Cheshire heraldry, linked to the Earls of Chester. Above and below this band, two thinner wavy blue lines (bendlets wavy) represent the River Bollin and the River Dean, local waterways that flow through Wilmslow.

The Crest

Above the shield sits the crest, a collection of visually striking elements. It includes an antique gold (Or) crown, a nod to the Greg family, prominent in the area's cotton-mill heritage. Encircling the base of the crown is a wreath of cotton, presented in its natural colors, further referencing the town's rich cotton-industry past. Above this crown and cotton wreath is the black head of a bear, a symbol of the Brereton (or "Bereton") family. The bear’s head is muzzled in red (gules) and has a silver star ("estoile") on its neck, a design element taken from the arms of the Handforth family.

Motto

The motto, "NOBIS HABITATIO FELIX," meaning "A happy dwelling place for us," is not visually represented but adds another layer of meaning to the symbolism of Wilmslow.

The overall design is a cohesive blend of historical references, representing the town’s agricultural heritage, its rivers, key families, and industrial past, culminating in a striking coat of arms.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/arms-of-wilmslow-town-council-united-kingdom-coat-of-arms-shot-glass-15oz-15oz-position1.webp?v=1768350849
https://gomugyourself.com/products/arms-of-wilmslow-town-council-united-kingdom-coat-of-arms-shot-glass-1-5oz
