These maple seeds cleverly represent the organization’s initials, AUCC, and pay homage to Canada’s national emblem, the maple leaf. The symmetrical arrangement suggests unity and the interconnectedness of Canadian universities.

The Crest

Above the shield, the Crest displays an open book, proper, with the pages depicted in a naturalistic color, bound atop two closed books. A green maple leaf adorns the dexter (right) page of the open book. This imagery is a direct reference to education, research, and community service. The closed books represent the foundations of knowledge, with the open book symbolizing the dissemination of learning.

The Supporters

Flanking the shield are two majestic polar bears, embodying Canadian identity and strength.
