The letter and numerals carry the whole image, set with the plain, legible weight that defines public road signage. Nothing decorative competes with them. The layout is centred and frontal, the way a driver would read a sign approaching from the road, so the designation reads instantly even at a glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

Alphanumeric route codes are the backbone of Australia's road network. They give states and regions a shared, standardised language for navigation, so a traveller can identify a specific stretch of highway by its code alone. The C137 marker stands for that system in miniature: a designation that identifies one route within a far larger web of highways, and a reminder of how much organisation sits behind every journey across the Australian landscape.

Designed for the Hand and the Nightcap

A shot glass is small, held close and lifted at the end of the evening, so this sign is seen up near the eye rather than from the roadside. The designation sits right where you look while you drink, which suits a route marker that was made to be read quickly. It makes a cheeky, gifty choice for anyone who has spent time on Australian roads and wants a memento of the journey.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/aus-alphanumeric-route-c137-australia-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz-GMY-SHOT-SLPH-1P5OZ-1FUZP-front.webp?v=1793634587
