Its letter and numerals carry the whole image, so the eye goes straight to the code rather than to any decoration. The layout is plain and direct, like a sign seen at speed from the driver's seat, with nothing competing for attention.

Meaning & Symbolism

Australia's road network uses letter-and-number codes, and the letter prefix signals where a route sits within the national system. C257 is a specific designation in that system, so the design celebrates the naming conventions that connect towns, regions and long stretches of open country. It is a tribute to the everyday language of travel, the markers that tell a traveller they are on the right path.

On the Mixing Glass

A sign is read in a glance, and this glass works the same way. The design wraps around a tall, curved surface, so the route code turns slowly as you lift and tilt it, the way a road unfolds as you drive. Whether you are pouring a drink or setting the glass down on a table, C257 stays in view, a small reminder of the road that is always there for the next trip.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/aus-alphanumeric-route-c257-australia-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SLPH-16OZ-1FV2Y-front.webp?v=1793622249
