The layout is strictly textual, with the alphanumeric designation sitting at the centre and no decorative flourishes, borders or illustration around it. The letter and numeral sequence is the whole image, so the eye moves straight from the C to the 652 and reads it as one identifier. The restraint gives it the directness of a real navigation marker.

Meaning & Symbolism

Route codes like this one are how Australian road networks are organised and found. A combination of letters and numbers gives each road a unique reference that drivers, planners and mapmakers can all use, which makes the designation a small piece of navigational infrastructure in its own right. The design honours that system as it is, presenting the code as the information it carries.

Made for This Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a tall, narrowing vessel that is picked up, turned and read at close range, so the route code is seen up close as the glass moves in the hand. The text runs with the glass's own vertical shape, and the composition stays readable from any side. Anyone who has spent time on Australian roads, or who simply likes a map, will recognise the route code as a clear and quietly satisfying thing to find on a glass.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/aus-alphanumeric-route-c652-australia-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-SLPH-16OZ-1FUOS-front.webp?v=1793618589
