It features a silver (white) field, emblazoned with a prominent black gridiron. This gridiron is the primary visual element, a direct reference to Saint Lawrence, the city's patron saint, and his martyrdom.

Above the Shield: Local Heritage

Above the shield, a naturalistically rendered turnip (or beet) is placed. This crest is in its natural colors, representing the Waasland region, an agricultural area where Lokeren is a significant town. The turnip pays homage to the local heritage and agricultural history of the area.

Ornaments: Civic Dignity

The design extends beyond the shield with the inclusion of "ornaments." These decorative elements are present in the form of supporters flanking the shield (typically stylized heraldic beasts, though the specifics are not detailed here), as well as a golden mural crown atop the shield. Further heraldic embellishments, such as scrolls or wreaths, are likely to be incorporated.

Symbolism in Brief

The design powerfully conveys the city's identity. The gridiron identifies the patron saint and religious ties. The turnip/beet speaks to the agricultural richness of the region. The ornaments (supporters and the crown) emphasize the city's status and significance in ceremonial contexts.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/blason-ville-be-lokeren-avec-ornements-belgium-coat-of-arms-shot-glass-15oz-15oz-position1.webp?v=1768382175
https://gomugyourself.com/products/blason-ville-be-lokeren-avec-ornements-belgium-coat-of-arms-shot-glass-1-5oz
