bolivia-rf-36-bolivia-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
Bolivia RF 36 (Bolivia) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

Bolivia RF 36 (Bolivia) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This design takes the form of a road sign, with the name Bolivia and the identifier RF 36 set out as its message, and it reads as a plain, direct piece of regional identification.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition follows the road sign format, where a single message is given the whole field so it can be read at a glance. The name Bolivia and the code RF 36 are the only content, and they sit as the dominant elements, with nothing decorative pulling attention away from them. The layout is rigid and orderly, in keeping with the formal mood of the piece.

Meaning & Symbolism

Bolivia is a landlocked country in central South America, and the design anchors itself to that place through its name alone. The RF 36 code works as a reference marker, the kind of identifier used to file and distinguish one entry from another within a set. Together, the place and the code turn a sign into a record of location, which is the core idea behind the artwork.

On the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a vessel that is shaken, stirred and then poured from, so the sign is seen from close range and turned in the hand as the drink is made. Its formal, direct lettering suits a glass that is used with purpose, and the Bolivia name gives the piece a clear place to sit on a bar shelf or in a gift set. Pick it up, and the sign is in view every time.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/bolivia-rf-36-bolivia-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-BLVRF-16OZ-1FSPT-front.webp?v=1793665304
