br-229-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
BR-229 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

BR-229 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

A single line of road-sign lettering carries the whole design: the designation BR-229 jct (Brazil), set plainly and readable at a glance.

Visual Elements & Composition

The artwork is purely typographic. The code BR-229 comes first, followed by the abbreviation jct and the country name in brackets, so the eye moves left to right as it would across a sign face. No illustrations, borders or ornaments compete with the text. The letters and their spacing do all the work, which gives the design its clean, uncluttered look.

Meaning & Symbolism

BR-229 is a federal highway designation in Brazil's road network, and the "BR" prefix marks it as a federal route. "jct" stands for junction, the point where one road meets or crosses another and where drivers make decisions. The design names a place rather than showing a picture: a specific intersection on a long-distance route, reduced to its code. For anyone who collects road signs, maps or travel typography, that code tells the whole story.

On the Mixing Glass

A tall, curved glass turns in the hand as you lift and pour, so the lettering wraps around the surface and the code reads in sections as it moves. Each glance catches a different part of the route designation, which suits a piece that is meant to be picked up and used again and again. It is an easy way to keep a journey on the table, whether you are commemorating a trip, marking a road you once drove, or adding a touch of global travel to a collection.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/br-229-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-BR229-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793792889
