A shield shape sits at the centre, its notched bottom point giving it the familiar silhouette of a route marker. Inside, a rounded-rectangle border frames the lettering, and the two text elements, BR and 336, stack with the clean, even spacing of a sign built to be read from a moving car.

Meaning & Symbolism

The shield is the language of the road network. In Brazil, the BR prefix marks a federal highway, and the number that follows places the route within the national grid of roads that link one region to the next. BR-336 is one of those connecting lines, and this artwork honours the system of signage that guides drivers across a country of vast distances. The modern, minimal treatment places the sign in the present day of cartography and highway design.

Shaping the Reading of the Sign

A mixing glass has a tall, tapered body, and the shield's upright form suits that line. The design wraps the curve of the glass so the route number turns as the drink is raised, a small piece of navigation for the hand. It is a fitting pick for anyone who has ever traced a route with a finger on a map, or who simply enjoys a good road story over a well-made drink.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/br-336-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-BR336-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793801310
