The BR-535 label dominates the composition, with nothing added to compete with it. There is no ornament and no scenery, only the functional lettering and numerals of the sign, laid out with the clarity road markers need so they can be read at speed from a moving car.

Meaning & Symbolism

The BR designation identifies Brazil's federal highway network, and a junction marker names the point where one route meets another. The design therefore stands for connection and for the wide reach of the national transit system across the Brazilian landscape. It speaks to travel, regional navigation and the layout of the roads that link one place to the next, and it appeals to anyone who finds meaning in infrastructure and the way a country is mapped by its signs.

Where This Design Meets the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is the vessel where separate ingredients come together, and a junction is the place where separate roads do the same. The sign's bold identifier suits a piece that is picked up, turned and held close while a drink is stirred or poured. Read from the hand rather than the roadside, the BR-535 marker becomes a small, deliberate meeting point, and a cheeky reminder that the best routes often cross at the place you least expect.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/br-535-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-BR535-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793778366
