It reads like a route marker you would pass at speed, and the artwork keeps that sense of direction.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition relies entirely on lettering. The code BR-584 sits first, followed by the abbreviation jct and the country name in brackets, with the road-sign reference set apart in its own bracket. Nothing else competes for attention, so the eye moves across the characters in order, the way a driver reads a sign from a distance. The layout is clean and direct, with the text doing all the work.

Meaning & Symbolism

BR-584 is a designation within Brazil's federal highway network, and the "BR" prefix marks it as a federal route. "Jct" stands for junction, the point where one road meets another. Together the markings describe a place where routes cross, a node in a national network of roads. The piece therefore speaks to transit, navigation and the everyday geography of Brazil's infrastructure, rather than to any single landmark.

Tall Reads, Close Hands

A pint glass is held in the hand and turned as it is drunk, so the lettering wraps the curve and moves with the drinker's grip. Each character stays legible from the side of the glass, which suits a route designation that is meant to be read in passing. Give it to a friend who has driven a long stretch of Brazilian highway, or to anyone who keeps a map of the places they have been, and the glass becomes a small road marker of its own.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/br-584-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-BR584-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793790460
