The shield has a rounded lower edge and a pointed notch at its centre, and a double-line border traces its full outline. BR and 639 are set in the upper body of the shield, with the jct label kept small and plain beneath. The layout is centred and minimal, so the sign is read at a single glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

In Brazil the BR prefix denotes a federal highway, and the three-digit number places this route within the national network. A jct marker signals a junction, the point where one road meets or divides from another. The shield is the standard form of Brazilian road signage, so the design stands for navigation and the everyday logic of the country's highways.

On a Mug Held Close

A mug is lifted to the mouth and turned in the hand, so the shield wraps around the curved wall of the cup and is taken in as the cup moves. The double border follows that curve, and the upright BR 639 lettering stays readable from the handle side. The white ground keeps the black sign crisp at every angle.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/br-639-jct-brazil-road-sign-white-coffee-mug-GMY-MUG-BR639-11OZ-front.webp?v=1793835230
