br-642-jct-brazil-road-sign-color-changing-mug-11oz
BR-642 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Color Changing Mug 11oz

BR-642 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Color Changing Mug 11oz

This design takes a single road marker and gives it the whole surface: the double-outlined shield of a Brazilian federal highway, carrying the route number 642 at the junction of the BR-642.

Visual Elements & Composition

Flat black and white do all the work here, with white covering roughly three quarters of the field and black taking the rest. The shield sits centred with its pointed bottom notch, and its double outline frames the lettering like a sign face. Inside, BR sits above a large 642, set in bold, plain type with nothing competing for attention. The layout is symmetrical and quiet, so the eye lands on the number first.

Meaning & Symbolism

The shield is the BR marker used across Brazil's federal highway network, and the number identifies one specific route. The "jct" in the title names the point where roads meet, so the design records a place on the map rather than a scene. It belongs to a tradition of route signage: pared-back, instantly readable graphics that tell a driver where they are and where the road leads.

On the Mug

A mug is turned in the hand, so the shield is seen in pieces as the cup rotates, with the number coming round to meet the eye on each turn. As a hot drink is poured in, the faint outline of the shield firms into view, so the sign appears as the coffee arrives, a small roadside reveal for the morning commute.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/br-642-jct-brazil-road-sign-color-changing-mug-11oz-GMY-MUG-BR642-11OZ-1FS25-front.webp?v=1793845296
