The outline is heavy and inset, so the shape reads as a solid badge rather than a thin line. The numerals 35 are the only lettering, centred inside the frame with nothing else competing for attention.

Meaning & Symbolism

The pentagon is the shape used to mark numbered state routes in Brazil, and this piece adopts that convention in a pared-back form. A route number identifies a road within a wider network, so the number 35 stands for a connection between places rather than any single destination. The flat, modern treatment points to the practical world of wayfinding that the sign serves.

Held and Turned

A mug is handled and turned, so the thick pentagon moves across the eye with each lift to the lips. The heavy border holds its shape on the curve of the ceramic, and the bold numerals stay clear from the handle side as well as from the front.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/brasil-estado-035-jct-brazil-road-sign-white-coffee-mug-GMY-MUG-BRSSTD-11OZ-1FQF6-front.webp?v=1793830169
