brasil-estado-084-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
Brasil estado 084 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

Brasil estado 084 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This design takes the form of a Brazilian road sign, reduced to a single line of text: Brasil estado 084 jct.

Visual Elements & Composition

The artwork is built entirely from typography. The words and numerals sit centred in the frame with nothing competing for attention, so the eye goes straight to the characters. Each part of the string is given equal weight: the country name, the word estado, the three-digit number 084, and the abbreviation jct. The layout is clean and deliberate, and the legibility of every character is the whole point of the piece.

Meaning & Symbolism

Each element of the string carries a specific meaning. Brasil names the country directly. Estado marks a state-level road, the category that sits between national highways and local routes. 084 is the route number, the identifier a driver would look for on a sign. Jct is the standard abbreviation for junction, the point where one road meets another. Read together, the designation is a precise instruction: a state road, numbered 084, at a junction. The design presents that coded language as it would appear on the road itself.

Designed for the Mixing Glass

A pint-sized glass is a tall, curved surface that turns in the hand as you drink, so the text wraps around the body and reads in pieces as the glass moves. The string is short enough to read in one glance, yet the numbers and abbreviation reward a closer look once the glass is in hand. Road signs are made to be read quickly from a moving vehicle, and this piece is made to be read at a table, one sip at a time. It makes a fitting choice for anyone who has ever followed a route number to find their way.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/brasil-estado-084-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-BRSSTD-16OZ-1FQGJ-front.webp?v=1793684501
