brasil-estado-117-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
Brasil estado 117 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

Brasil estado 117 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This is a typographic piece built around one line of text, Brasil estado 117 jct, set to read like a sign you would pass on a long drive.

Visual Elements & Composition

The layout is spare and direct. The words and the numerals sit together as a single identifier, with the number 117 carrying the eye after the place name. Nothing decorative competes with the lettering. The arrangement is structured and orderly, the way signage is designed to be read at a glance, and the clarity of the characters is what gives the design its presence.

Meaning & Symbolism

The phrase combines Brasil, estado (state) and a route number with the abbreviation jct, short for junction. Together they describe a place where roads meet, a point of navigation rather than a landmark. The design draws on Brazil's road-sign tradition, where a number and a region identify a way through the country. It speaks to regional identity and to the idea that a whole nation can be mapped by its numbered routes.

On the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a piece you lift and turn in the hand, so the text is never seen all at once. It rotates past the eye as you stir, and the numerals come round to meet you on each pass. Designs like this suit a glass that is handled rather than displayed, because the identifier is read in motion, the same way a driver reads a junction sign while the road keeps moving.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/brasil-estado-117-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-BRSSTD-16OZ-1FQHG-front.webp?v=1793685156
