brasil-estado-598-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
Brasil estado 598 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

Brasil estado 598 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This design sets a single line of road-sign text, "Brasil estado 598 jct," across the surface with nothing else competing for attention.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is built entirely from type. The word "Brasil" leads, followed by "estado," "598," and the abbreviation "jct," each read in order from left to right. The arrangement is spare and orderly, with no illustration, border or ornament, so the letterforms and numerals carry the whole image. The contrast between the wordy country name and the short numeric code gives the layout its rhythm, and the eye moves from the familiar word to the unfamiliar code without interruption.

Meaning & Symbolism

Each part of the text names something specific. "Brasil" identifies the country, "estado" means state, and "598" is a route number of the kind used to mark roads through a region. "Jct" is the standard abbreviation for junction, the point where one road meets another. Read together, the phrase reads like a waypoint, a place on the map where a traveller turns. The design takes that everyday piece of wayfinding and presents it as a subject in its own right, which is why it reads as both regional and purely alphanumeric.

Designed for the Mixing Glass

A pint-style vessel offers a tall, curved surface that the text can follow all the way around. Because the design is a single line of type, it reads most clearly when the glass is turned in the hand, letting each word pass in front of the viewer in sequence. The sign-like layout suits a drinking vessel that is picked up, tilted and set down again, so the route marker comes into view at every turn of the glass.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/brasil-estado-598-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-BRSSTD-16OZ-1FQ8K-front.webp?v=1793678959
