The words Brasil, estado, 611 and jct sit in a centred arrangement, with the numerals and abbreviation given the same weight as the place name so that each part reads clearly. Nothing decorative competes with the text. The result is a plain, legible layout with a quiet, directional character, the kind of lettering a traveller meets at a roadside and reads at a glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

Each element carries a clear meaning. Brasil names the country, estado is the Portuguese word for state and marks the designation as a state-level route, 611 is the route number, and jct is the standard abbreviation for junction, the point where roads meet and a driver must choose a direction. Together the phrase places a specific junction within Brazil's regional road network, turning a line of signage into a small statement about place, navigation and the everyday geography of the country.

On the Mixing Glass

A 16oz mixing glass is a vessel that is lifted, tilted and turned in the hand, so the lettering wraps around a curved surface and shifts as the glass moves. Because the glass is crystal clear, the design reads through the wall of the vessel, which suits a piece built around legibility. It makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who has followed a road sign to somewhere new, or who simply likes a little map of the world on their bar cart.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/brasil-estado-611-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-BRSSTD-16OZ-1FPXR-front.webp?v=1793667610
