brasil-estado-850-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
Brasil estado 850 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

Brasil estado 850 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This design is a straightforward piece of typography, built entirely from the words and numbers of a Brazilian road identifier: Brasil estado 850 jct.

Visual Elements & Composition

The layout is text-driven, with no illustration to compete with the lettering. The phrase reads as a set of signage-style elements: the country name, the Portuguese word for state, a route number, and a short abbreviation. Each piece keeps its own weight in the line, so the eye moves left to right through the identifiers in the order they would be read on a sign. Nothing is decorative. The composition relies on spacing and the shapes of the characters themselves, which gives the design a plain, functional quality.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road signs exist to tell travellers where they are and where a route leads. Brasil names the country, estado marks the state-level division of Brazil's territory, and 850 is the numeric designation of the road. Jct is the standard abbreviation for junction, the point where one route meets another. Together the words describe a location and a crossing, which is why the design reads as regional identification and national identity rather than as a slogan. It is a reproduction of the wayfinding language Brazilian roads use.

Made for the Mixing Glass in Hand

A mixing glass is a vessel you hold close and turn while you work, so this design rewards a slow look. The lettering runs around a tall, narrow form, and the words stay legible from any side as the glass is rotated. Give it as a gift to someone who has a favourite route, a favourite region, or a habit of reading every sign on the way somewhere. It is a small, cheeky nod to the road trip that brought them there.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/brasil-estado-850-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-BRSSTD-16OZ-1FPTI-front.webp?v=1793667111
