The alphanumeric sequence Brasil estado 912 jct sits centred and runs as one structured line, with no illustration or decoration competing for attention. The letterforms and the numerals carry the whole composition, and the reading order is never in doubt. Each element keeps its place: the country, the word for state, the route number, and the abbreviation at the end. The layout is clean and direct, which suits a sign-style treatment.

Meaning & Symbolism

Each part of the phrase has a plain meaning. Brasil names the country, and estado is the Portuguese word for state, marking the regional division within Brazil. 912 works as a route or road number, and jct is the familiar shorthand for junction. Read together, the text describes a specific road junction in a Brazilian state, the kind of designation that appears on maps and directional signs. The design celebrates that everyday language of navigation and the sense of place it gives to a particular stretch of road.

On the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is a tall, narrow vessel that is lifted, turned and read at close range, so the sign-style lettering stays in view as the glass moves in the hand. The text runs around the body of the glass, which means each line of the phrase comes into view as the glass is turned. Like a road sign glimpsed from a passing car, the designation reveals itself one piece at a time, and the words stay legible from the front of the glass as it is held.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/brasil-estado-912-jct-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-BRSSTD-16OZ-1FPV8-front.webp?v=1793667343
