A six-pointed golden star sits near the centre, and the initials H.A. are set on the field as the only lettering. Near-black appears in very small quantities. The tapered triangular shape follows the traditional form of a ceremonial vehicle pennant, and the flat vector finish keeps every edge crisp.

An Academy Commander's Flag

The Honvéd War Academy was the Hungarian institution for training senior officers, and its commander's car carried a pennant to show his rank. The initials identify the academy, while the gold star marks the command post. The flag dates from 1948, the year the Hungarian armed forces were being reorganised, so the design records how the academy presented its leadership in that moment.

Initials on a Curved Surface

A mug is turned in the hand, so the initials and star move across the wall and reappear with each turn. The narrow pennant shape lends itself to a cup that is held close, because the letters are read at reading distance rather than from across a room.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/car-pennant-of-the-commander-of-the-honved-war-academy-1948-hungary-white-coffee-mug-11oz-position1.webp?v=1756800794
https://gomugyourself.com/products/car-pennant-of-the-commander-of-the-honved-war-academy-1948-hungary-white-coffee-mug
