Two sections prominently display tools associated with the logging industry: a paddle and a squaring axe. These symbolize the core economic foundation of the colony, representing the labor of lumbermen and the importance of mahogany harvesting. The third section depicts a ship, a visual representation of commerce and maritime trade, acknowledging the colony's port-based nature and its reliance on shipping for economic growth.

Above and Beside the Shield: Unity and Prosperity

Above the shield, a mahogany tree is prominently featured, further emphasizing the significance of this valuable timber to the local economy. Supporting the shield on either side are two figures: a European settler holding a paddle and a man of African descent with an axe. The motto, "Sub Umbra Floreo," meaning "I flourish in the shade," is placed at the bottom, alluding to both the shade of the mahogany trees and the prosperity derived from the forestry industry.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/coat-of-arms-of-british-honduras-1907-1981-belize-coat-of-arms-shot-glass-15oz-15oz-position1.webp?v=1768441827
https://gomugyourself.com/products/coat-of-arms-of-british-honduras-1907-1981-belize-coat-of-arms-shot-glass-1-5oz
