The artwork aims to capture the essence of the historical county's heraldry, though a definitive, universally agreed-upon blazon (official heraldic description) for the pre-1970 county arms is elusive.

Design Elements

The central element of the design is likely to reference the Goose Tower of Vordingborg Castle. This tower, represented by a goose, was a prominent feature of the region and a symbol adopted in the subsequent Storstrøm County's coat of arms, which absorbed Præstø County.

The design, if informed by the later Storstrøm County arms, may also integrate the waterway called Storstrømmen Strait, potentially represented by a stream or band across the shield. However, the precise placement and form are speculative, given the lack of a fully documented blazon for the original Præstø County arms.

Symbolism and Meaning

The primary symbolism conveyed by this design, if mirroring the components used in the later county arms, would be the historical significance of Vordingborg Castle and the geographic link to the Storstrømmen Strait. These elements represent a visual link to the territory and history of Præstø County.

The design serves as a tribute to a bygone administrative entity, using the symbolic language of heraldry to evoke the history and regional identity of Præstø County.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/coat-of-arms-of-prst-county-denmark-coat-of-arms-shot-glass-15oz-15oz-position1.webp?v=1765780903
https://gomugyourself.com/products/coat-of-arms-of-praesto-county-denmark-coat-of-arms-shot-glass-1-5oz
