The design is a striking representation of the town's history and identity.

Visual Elements and Composition

The design features a vibrant red (Gules) background, serving as the field for the primary imagery. Dominating the field are two gold (Or) fish, elegantly curved and facing away from each other (haurient embowed addorsed), creating a visually dynamic and balanced composition.

At the top of the design, a horizontal gold band (the chief) adds a touch of regal detail. This band contains three carefully arranged red lozenges (diamond shapes), providing a contrasting element and completing the heraldic structure.

Meaning and Symbolism

The central element of the design, the two fish, acts as a visual pun, or canting arms. The name "Fischen" directly translates to "fishing," and the fish thus pay homage to the town's origins as a fishing settlement. This clever use of imagery connects the present-day town directly to its historical roots.

The inclusion of the three red lozenges on the gold chief is a nod to the Counts of Königsegg-Rothenfels, who were once influential rulers in the area. This inclusion symbolizes the historical territorial connection and authority held by the Counts, adding an element of historical significance.

The choice of colors, red and gold, adheres to traditional heraldic practices frequently seen in German and Bavarian municipal arms, further grounding the design in its historical context.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/deu-fischen-im-allgu-coa-germany-coat-of-arms-shot-glass-15oz-15oz-position1.webp?v=1765591669
