The design is a vibrant representation of the region's rich history and diverse affiliations.

Visual Elements and Symbolism

The artwork is divided horizontally. The top portion of the design features a striking black imperial eagle set against a gold (yellow) background. This majestic eagle is a direct reference to the area's historical status and its former Imperial Free Cities, such as Donauwörth and Nördlingen, which once held significant autonomy within the Holy Roman Empire. The eagle motif symbolizes this imperial heritage.

The lower part of the design is vertically split. The left (heraldic right) side presents a golden St. Andrew's cross, also known as a saltire, displayed on a red background. This cross is derived from the arms of the Counts of Oettingen, a historically important local ruling family near Nördlingen. This element acknowledges their influence and their historical connection to the region.

The right (heraldic left) side of the lower portion features the iconic white-and-blue lozenges, arranged in a diamond pattern, which are strongly associated with Bavaria. This symbolizes the region’s lasting historical connection to the Duchy and later Kingdom of Bavaria, and specifically relates to the former Donauwörth district.

Together, these elements on the shot glass design form a visually compelling combination that tells the story of Landkreis Donau-Ries, embracing its imperial past, local noble history, and Bavarian affiliation.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/deu-landkreis-donau-ries-coa-germany-coat-of-arms-shot-glass-15oz-15oz-position1.webp?v=1765593578
https://gomugyourself.com/products/deu-landkreis-donau-ries-coa-germany-coat-of-arms-shot-glass-1-5oz
