Inside the circular badge, a cannon runs diagonally across the centre, with a pyramid of three cannonballs beside it. The drawing is flat, in line-art style, with black outlines and white used for the badge's detail, so the artillery motif is the only figure on the field.

Meaning & Symbolism

The cannon and cannonball pyramid are the traditional marks of artillery, and placing them within a circular badge gives the unit a single, recognisable sign. The design dates from 1939, the year the Royal Hungarian Defence Forces' artillery commands were identified by this emblem, and it records the heraldic habits of Hungarian military units in that period.

Seen at Arm's Length

A mug is turned in the hand and seen close, so the circular badge sits at the centre of the view as the cup is raised. The bold red-orange field and the diagonal cannon read clearly from the side of the mug.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/flag-of-the-command-of-an-artillery-regiment-or-battalion-of-the-royal-hungarian-defence-forces-1939-hungary-white-coffee-mug-11oz-position1.webp?v=1756758777
https://gomugyourself.com/products/flag-of-the-command-of-an-artillery-regiment-or-battalion-of-the-royal-hungarian-defence-forces-1939-hungary-white-coffee-mug
