The shapes are rectangular and the layout is plain, so the flag reads through its colour blocking rather than through ornament. Nothing decorative competes with the basic structure, which gives the piece its austere, official look.

Meaning & Symbolism

The 1928 ration-depot flag is one of a systematic family of interwar Hungarian military banners. Each installation type, from ammunition depots and signal stations to corps commands and field hospitals, carried its own distinguishing standard. This one identifies the army's food-supply depots, the logistics that kept the Honvédség fed. Its formal, regulated design reflects the Kingdom of Hungary's effort in the regency period to give its military units a clear and orderly identity.

Carried Across the Curve

On a mug the rectangular blocks wrap around the rounded white body, so the colour edges run across the curve as the cup is turned. The yellow stands out sharply against the glossy white, and the plain layout suits a cup that is held and viewed from several sides.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/flag-of-the-ration-depots-of-the-royal-hungarian-defence-forces-1928-hungary-white-coffee-mug-11oz-position1.webp?v=1756744622
https://gomugyourself.com/products/flag-of-the-ration-depots-of-the-royal-hungarian-defence-forces-1928-hungary-white-coffee-mug
