irl-n23-ireland-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz
IRL N23 (Ireland) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

IRL N23 (Ireland) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design sets the three-letter abbreviation for Ireland beside the identifier N23, and it does so with nothing else on the surface to compete for attention.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is built on typography alone. The letters IRL and the numerals N23 sit as the main event, arranged in a clean, direct layout with no ornament, border or illustrative flourish. Plain lettering on an open field gives the piece its modern character, and the eye reads the code first, then the place it points to. Nothing is decorative for its own sake, so every mark on the surface is doing a job.

Meaning & Symbolism

IRL is the standard shorthand used to name Ireland, and the design relies on that recognition to carry its geographic meaning. The N23 marker reads as a classification code, the kind of reference that places an item inside a numbered series of regional identifiers. Together the two parts describe a place and its place in a system: a country, identified in the same concise way that signage and records identify it. The result is a small statement about naming conventions as much as about Ireland itself.

On the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small, lifted in one hand and held close to the face, so the design is seen at very short range rather than from across a room. The letters and numerals are compact enough to read at a glance as the glass is raised, which suits a typographic piece built on clarity. It is a fitting pairing for anyone whose Irish connection is spelled out in a code, a name that is pure shorthand but unmistakable once seen.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/irl-n23-ireland-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz-GMY-SHOT-RLN-1P5OZ-1DTQX-front.webp?v=1793589205
