l52-at-austria-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz
L52-AT (Austria) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

L52-AT (Austria) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design takes the form of a road sign, carrying the single designation L52-AT and nothing else to distract from it.

Visual Elements & Composition

The artwork is built on restraint. The alphanumeric code L52-AT sits at the centre of the composition and dominates the surface, so the eye lands on the lettering before anything else. There are no illustrations, borders of ornament or decorative flourishes. Each character is set with clean, even spacing, and the layout reads as a sign should: direct, legible and immediate. The minimalism is deliberate, and it is what gives the piece its technical character.

Meaning & Symbolism

The L prefix in Austrian road numbering marks a Landesstraße, a state or provincial road, and the number that follows identifies it within the network. The AT identifier is the international code for Austria, which places the designation firmly within the country's roads. The sign therefore works as a categorisation: a code that names a place and a route, reduced to its essentials. It speaks to geography, to order and to the way systems of numbers help us find our way.

Made for the Shot Glass in Hand

A shot glass is small and held close, raised at eye level and turned briefly before it is taken. That proximity suits a design built on clarity. The code is read at a glance, up close, the way a driver reads a sign at a junction. Whoever receives it will find a quiet nod to the open road, a little cheeky and entirely understated, and a reminder of the places that have shaped their travels.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/l52-at-austria-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz-GMY-SHOT-LT-1P5OZ-1FTVZ-front.webp?v=1793652588
