mg-065-brazil-road-sign-white-coffee-mug
MG-065 (Brazil) (Road Sign) White Coffee Mug

MG-065 (Brazil) (Road Sign) White Coffee Mug

A plain black pentagon outline on white, marked with the route code "MG 65", reproducing the look of a Brazilian state highway shield.

Visual Elements & Composition

Black and white are the only colours used. The pentagonal badge is drawn as an outline rather than a solid block, so the white field shows through the middle and the shape reads as a sign panel. "MG" sits above the numerals "65", set in bold capitals and centred within the badge. The layout is symmetrical and quiet, with no background pattern and no secondary ornament. The numerals carry the design, and the flat vector finish keeps the edges clean.

Meaning & Symbolism

Brazilian state highways are identified by a two-letter state code followed by a route number, and "MG" is the code for Minas Gerais, the inland state known for its hills, colonial-era towns and mining history. Route 65 is one of the numbered state roads in that network. The shield shape is the signal here: it tells the viewer this is a road marker, a piece of everyday navigation that most drivers pass without a second look. The design takes that ordinary sign and presents it as a small, self-contained emblem of the region.

Held in the Hand

A mug is turned as it is lifted, so the shield appears in a slow sequence, first the pentagon edge, then the letters, then the full badge once the handle is set to the side. The black outline holds its shape on the curved wall, and the empty centre of the pentagon lets the white ceramic show through, which suits a design this spare. It is a good match for a cup that gets reached for on a regular morning.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-065-brazil-road-sign-white-coffee-mug-GMY-MUG-MG065-11OZ-front.webp?v=1793834057
