mg-242-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
MG-242 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

MG-242 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This is a road-sign design built around a single identifier, the code MG-242, set out the way a highway marker announces where you are.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is plain and direct. The code MG-242 is the focal point, with the regional marker Brazil giving it context. Nothing decorative competes with the numerals, so the eye goes straight to the designation. The layout reads like a sign: a clear label, a fixed hierarchy, and no wasted space.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road designations are a system for orientation. MG is the abbreviation for Minas Gerais, one of Brazil's states, and MG-242 is a route number within its network of state roads. The design takes that bureaucratic shorthand and turns it into an object of attention, celebrating the everyday signage that guides people across a landscape without their noticing it.

Built for the Turn of the Wrist

A mixing glass is held, tilted and turned while the drink is stirred, so the artwork is read in pieces rather than all at once. The code runs around the vessel as it moves in the hand, so each turn brings a new part of the sign into view. It is a quiet, cheeky joke for anyone who has ever followed a route number to a good destination, and a fitting companion for drinks made with some care.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-242-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-MG242-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793764667
