A single sign-style panel carries the subject, with the Brazil theme set at the centre so the eye lands on it first. Nothing is layered or abstracted. The catalogue code MG-245 sits within the design's identity, marking it as one entry in a structured series of graphic works.

Meaning & Symbolism

A road sign tells you where you are and where you are going. Applied to Brazil, the design uses that familiar language to point at the nation's cultural and geographical identity. The road-sign format carries the idea of travel and arrival, and the Brazilian subject gives that journey a clear destination. The design's themes are Brazil and Cultural Identity, and the road sign is the device that connects them.

On the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is held close and turned in the hand while it is stirred, so the design is seen at close range and from several angles as the drink is poured. The sign's central panel sits in view while the glass is lifted, which suits a motif built around a single clear point. When the glass is set down to serve, the design faces the drinker, so the road sign makes its point at the table as well as on the bar.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-245-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-MG245-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793764775
