The black inner border runs parallel to the shield's edge, giving the badge a framed, finished look. The letters MG sit at the head of the shield and the numerals 251 fill the body beneath them. The layout is pared back and utilitarian, with two lines of type and a single shape doing all the work.

Meaning & Symbolism

The pentagonal shield is the form used for state route markers, and MG is the abbreviation for Minas Gerais, a Brazilian state. The number 251 names one road within the state's network. The piece adapts the working grammar of a highway sign into a graphic that reads immediately as a route reference, carried into a modern, minimal style.

Shaped for a Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the shield is seen at the scale of a hand and the number is the first thing to catch the eye. The bold lettering stays clear at that size, and the pentagon's straight edges give the glass a crisp, graphic outline.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-251-brazil-road-sign-shot-glass-15oz-GMY-SHOT-MG251-1P5OZ-front.webp?v=1793818872
