The layout is symmetrical and uncluttered, so the eye moves straight from the state prefix to the number and back again.

Meaning & Symbolism

The sign points to a real road. MG-260 is a state highway in Minas Gerais, Brazil, and the "MG" prefix identifies the state while the number places the route within its network. Road signs of this kind are meant to be understood instantly, and the design keeps that purpose: it stands for navigation, distance and the ordinary business of getting from one place to another.

Why It Suits This Glass

A pint-style glass has a tall, curved side that wraps around the hand, and this design is built for that surface. The numerals run around the body rather than stopping at a flat edge, so the route stays in view as the glass is lifted and turned. Each time it is picked up, the sign reads as a short, clear message from a road a long way from wherever it is held.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-260-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-MG260-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793772579
