Nothing competes with the sign's central message, so the eye goes straight to the title and the country reference. The MG-261 code reads as a route marker, a short alphanumeric label of the kind used to identify a road, and it gives the piece its directness. There is no decorative clutter around it, so the sign reads as a clear, self-contained image.

Meaning & Symbolism

A road sign points the way and tells you where you are, and this design borrows that language to frame Brazil as a place on the map. The themes attached to the artwork are national identity and geography, so the piece is about a country's place in the world and the pride people take in it. The MG-261 designation adds a sense of catalogue and classification, as though the sign belongs to a larger system of named routes and regions.

Made for the Mixing Glass

A road sign is built to be read at a glance, and a pint-sized glass suits that kind of reading. The design wraps around a tapered, curved surface, so the sign turns in the hand as you drink, bringing the title and the country name into view one side at a time. The glass is narrow toward its base, which keeps the image upright and easy to read when it is lifted to the table.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-261-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-MG261-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793765202
