The MG-277 lettering and numerals do the work here, with nothing competing around them. The layout is clean and direct, so the sign reads at a glance, the way a route marker has to when it is passed at speed.

Meaning & Symbolism

The "MG" prefix identifies the road as part of the state highway network of Minas Gerais, one of Brazil's largest states, and the number places MG-277 within that system. The design is a tribute to the everyday language of Brazilian roads: a short code that tells travellers where they are, where they are going, and which route to follow. Its meaning lies in that quiet practicality, the signage that guides a journey without asking for attention.

Designed for the Hand

A mixing glass is tall and narrow, and it is lifted and turned by hand, so the sign is seen from close range and in motion, much like a road marker glimpsed from a moving car. As the glass rotates, the route code passes in front of you, a small reminder of the road it stands for. It is a fitting pairing: a piece of travel signage on a vessel made for the journey from shaker to glass.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-277-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-MG277-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793765634
