The code MG-295 and the regional marker Brazil carry the whole design, with no decorative imagery competing for attention. The arrangement is plain and direct, the way a route marker is meant to be read at a glance from a moving vehicle.

Meaning & Symbolism

The "MG" prefix identifies Minas Gerais, one of Brazil's states, and the number places this route within the state's highway network. The design therefore stands for navigation and orientation: a fixed point that tells a traveller where they are and which road they are on. Its subject is a system of identifiers, and it treats that system as a thing worth keeping in view.

Shaking Up the Mixing Glass

A mixing glass is held in the hand and turned while the drink is stirred or shaken, so the design is seen up close and in motion rather than from across a room. Each time the glass is lifted, the route marker comes round into view. It makes a good conversation starter for anyone who has driven a Brazilian highway, and an unexpected tribute for anyone who has not yet been.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-295-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-MG295-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793773412
