The route number is the focal point, set where the eye lands first, with the Brazil reference beside it. Nothing competes with the designation, so the sign's job of identifying a road stays clear. The layout is direct, the way a sign has to be when a driver has seconds to read it.

Meaning & Symbolism

The code is the story. The "MG" prefix marks Minas Gerais, one of Brazil's states, and the 404 identifies a specific state highway within it. Route numbers like this are how travellers find their way across long distances, so the artwork celebrates the quiet system of signage that moves people through a landscape. It is a tribute to geography as something you navigate rather than simply look at.

Turning the Glass in Hand

A mixing glass gets handled a lot. It is lifted, turned and passed across the bar, so the design is seen in pieces as it rotates, the route number appearing and disappearing as the glass moves. Pour a drink into it and the sign becomes a conversation starter for whoever is holding it. It makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who has ever followed a road sign somewhere new.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-404-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-MG404-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793756636
