MG-429 is a numbered route in Minas Gerais, the Brazilian state whose initials open the code, and the artwork turns that signage language into a focused, abstract concept.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is deliberately spare. Nothing is crowded around the central idea: the identifier and the Brazil reference carry the design, and the layout gives them room to be read at a glance, the way a route marker is meant to be read from a moving vehicle.

Meaning & Symbolism

A road designation is a way of locating yourself. The MG prefix places the route in Minas Gerais, and the number distinguishes it from every other road in the network. The design treats that code as a subject in its own right, so the sign becomes a reference to travel, direction and the idea of a particular place reached by a particular road.

Made for the Pint Glass Shape

A pint glass is a tall vessel that you turn slowly in the hand, so the design reads as you rotate it rather than all at once. The identifier and the Brazil reference sit within easy view as the glass moves, and the sign reads as a short journey around the curve, with the code always returning to the front.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-429-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-MG429-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793757252
