The code is the dominant element, presented as a clean, structured marking in the manner of a road sign, with the Brazil reference sitting beside it rather than competing with it. The layout is spare and uncluttered, so the lettering and numerals do all the work, and the overall mood is measured and neutral.

Meaning & Symbolism

In Brazil, codes like MG-450 are how the road network is named and navigated. The "MG" prefix refers to Minas Gerais, one of the country's largest states, and the number marks a specific route through it. The design turns that everyday piece of signage into a symbol of regional identity, where a functional label becomes a way of saying where you come from and which roads have shaped your journeys.

Lifting a Glass to the Road

A pint-style glass is held at a tall, curved surface, so the design wraps around the drinker's hand as it is lifted and turned. The code reads as the glass rotates, which suits a piece of signage that is meant to be seen from the side as much as from the front. It makes a good talking point for anyone who has driven a Brazilian highway, or who plans to.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-450-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-MG450-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793757771
