mg-473-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
MG-473 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

MG-473 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This design takes a single road marker from Brazil and gives it the full, unhurried attention usually reserved for a monument.

Visual Elements & Composition

The artwork is built around one dominant element: the designation MG-473, presented as a road sign. Nothing competes with it. The lettering and numerals sit at the centre of the composition, so the eye lands on the code first and the sign's shape second. The result reads as clean and direct, with the sign itself doing all the work.

Meaning & Symbolism

The code tells the story. MG is the abbreviation for Minas Gerais, one of Brazil's largest states, and 473 is the number of a state highway running through it. Road markers like this one are how travellers navigate between towns, so the design stands for movement, distance and the ordinary routes that connect a landscape. It is a piece of everyday infrastructure lifted into the role of a subject.

Raising a Glass to the Journey

A road sign is something you read at speed, and this piece suits an object that is also meant to be read at a glance. The pint glass has a tall, curved surface, so the sign wraps around it as you turn it in your hand, with the code rising and falling as the glass moves. Pour a drink, stir it, and set it down again. Either way, you keep returning to the same few characters, which makes this a fitting souvenir for anyone who has ever followed a Brazilian highway to its next stop.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/mg-473-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-MG473-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793770098
