Nothing competes with the subject: the country's form and name carry the piece, with no decorative detail pulling the eye away. The road-sign reference in the title points to a graphic built the way signage is built, with a single clear image read at a glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

Bangladesh is a country on the Bay of Bengal, and this artwork treats it as a statement of geography and national identity. Its catalogue identifier, NH-206, places it within a numbered series of country designs, each meant to offer a clear, recognisable reference to its nation. Showing a country this plainly makes it a marker of place, the kind of image people look at to recall where a home, a journey or a memory belongs.

On the Mixing Glass

A 16oz glass of this shape is held in the hand and turned as it is drunk, so the design wraps around a tall, curved surface and reveals itself a section at a time. The glass narrows toward its base, which keeps the design sitting close to the palm. Printed on a surface that is seen from every side, the Bangladesh graphic becomes something you return to each time you pick the glass up, a small, portable piece of national geography for the table.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/nh-206-bgd-bangladesh-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-NH206-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793657889
