placa-r-bittencourt-brazil-road-sign-white-coffee-mug
Placa r bittencourt (Brazil) (Road Sign) White Coffee Mug

Placa r bittencourt (Brazil) (Road Sign) White Coffee Mug

A royal-blue street-name sign reading "R. Bittencourt," with a white inner border and a federal highway shield in the corner.

Visual Elements & Composition

Royal blue covers most of the design, with white used for the inner border line and the lettering. The sign is a horizontal rounded rectangle, and the white border runs just inside its edge like a painted frame. The street name R. Bittencourt sits across the centre in white capitals and lowercase, reading left to right with the abbreviation first. A small shield carries the number BR 116. Flat vector shapes and sharp edges keep the layout direct, with no shading or texture to distract from the words.

Meaning & Symbolism

The "R." stands for "Rua," the Portuguese word for street, so the sign names a single road in the Brazilian manner of street identification. The BR-116 shield marks a federal highway, the kind of route that connects regions across the country, and placing the two together shows how a local street and a national road sit on the same signage system. The blue-and-white scheme is the familiar palette of Brazilian road-name plates, and the design's modern flat style keeps that tradition current.

Held in the Hand

A mug is turned in the hand as it is lifted, so the sign wraps around the curve of the body and reads in pieces as the cup is rotated. The horizontal layout suits that movement, with the street name visible from the front and the highway shield coming into view as the mug turns. It sits well beside a morning coffee or a cup of tea, and the blue reads clearly against the white ceramic.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/placa-r-bittencourt-brazil-road-sign-white-coffee-mug-GMY-MUG-PLCR-11OZ-front.webp?v=1793824901
