The crowned shield sits at the centre, flanked on either side by a pair of angels, and a red and green flame pattern runs around the edge. The arrangement is symmetrical and formal, and the flat vector shapes keep the heraldry sharp and legible.

Meaning & Symbolism

The crowned arms of the Lands of the Holy Hungarian Crown place the regiment within the historic kingdom, and the crown recalls the Crown of Saint Stephen that represents the Hungarian state. The angels that flank the shield add a sacred dimension to the emblem. The colour was used by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Regiments of the 1st Infantry Division, so it identified a formation of the post-war army as well as the national tradition it inherited.

On the Ceramic Mug

A mug is turned in the hand, so the flame border travels around the cup as it rotates. The angels and the crowned shield sit in the middle band of the design, which is the part of the mug that faces the drinker when it is lifted.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/regimental-colour-of-the-1st-infantry-division-of-the-hungarian-defence-forces-1945-1946-hungary-white-coffee-mug-11oz-position1.webp?v=1772624888
https://gomugyourself.com/products/regimental-colour-of-the-1st-infantry-division-of-the-hungarian-defence-forces-1945-1946-hungary-white-coffee-mug
