rj-124-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz
RJ-124 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

RJ-124 (Brazil) (Road Sign) Pint Glass 16oz

This design takes the form of a road sign and sets Brazil at its centre, marking the country as a place to be found rather than a fact to be read.

Visual Elements & Composition

The layout follows the logic of a road sign, with a single identifier, RJ-124, set as the lead message and the word Brazil supporting it. Nothing competes for attention. The composition is direct and uncluttered, so the code and the country read in a single glance, as a traveller would take in a sign while moving past it.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road signs exist to direct, and this one directs toward Brazil. The code is the detail that rewards a closer look: RJ is the standard abbreviation for Rio de Janeiro, one of Brazil's states, so the identifier points to a specific region within the country rather than to the nation as a whole. The design therefore carries two layers at once, a national identity and a regional one, both stated plainly.

Reading the Sign on a Mixing Glass

A road sign is built to be seen from a distance, but this design is meant to be seen up close. Set on a mixing glass, it is read at the level of the hand, turned slowly while the drink is poured or stirred. Each turn brings the next part of the sign into view, so the journey it describes is one the glass makes with you, one pass at a time.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/rj-124-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-RJ124-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793750418
