The sign format puts the identifier RJ-146 and the word Brazil at the centre of attention, with no decorative clutter competing for the eye. Nothing in the composition is ornamental. Each element earns its place by pointing toward the subject, and the overall effect is clean, neutral in mood, and easy to read at a glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

The design is a conceptual exploration of Brazilian identity, built on the themes of geography and culture. It avoids specific historical or political messaging and lets the country speak for itself. The RJ-146 code works as a reference marker, turning Brazil into a destination on a map. A road sign exists to direct, and this one directs attention to the nation as a whole.

Reading the Glass

A mixing glass is picked up, tilted and turned as a drink is stirred or poured, so the design is seen in motion and at close range rather than from across a room. The road-sign format reads cleanly from every angle as the glass moves through the hand. For anyone who has travelled to Brazil, or has it on the list, this is a sly way to keep the destination on the table long after the trip.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/rj-146-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-RJ146-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793750760
