It relies on a small set of elements rather than decoration, and the code itself, RJ-232, carries the composition. The lettering and numerals are the focal point, set with the clean, direct clarity of a sign meant to be read at a glance. Nothing competes with them, so the eye goes straight to the designation.

Meaning & Symbolism

The prefix RJ marks the state of Rio de Janeiro within Brazil's road numbering, and 232 identifies one particular route among them. Read together, the code ties the artwork to a specific place and to the everyday language of travel. The design honours Brazilian identity through its geography rather than through ornament, pointing to a real route that people navigate and recognise.

Why It Suits the Mixing Glass

A road sign is designed to be read quickly and in passing, and this glass suits that. Its narrow base sits comfortably in the hand, so the code is turned towards you as you lift and pour. Printed on a tall, curved surface, the lettering wraps the glass as you move it, the same way a sign is seen from changing angles on the road. Each pour brings the route back into view.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/rj-232-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-RJ232-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793754788
