The abbreviation RJ and the country name Brazil are the only text, placed side by side with nothing competing for attention. The road-sign framing gives the piece a familiar shape, a bold plate that reads at a glance, with no decoration added for effect. Every element is there to be read quickly, and the layout keeps the message direct.

Meaning & Symbolism

RJ is the standard abbreviation for Rio de Janeiro, one of Brazil's states, so the pairing marks a specific place within the wider country. Road signs exist to orient travellers, and borrowing that visual language turns a regional code into a waypoint. It sits within the long tradition of geography and travel souvenirs, where a name on a sign stands in for the journey itself.

Made for the Mixing Glass

This is a tall, curved surface that you lift, turn and hold while you mix a drink, so the sign wraps around the glass and comes into view with every tilt of the hand. Because the design is read in motion rather than from a distance, the road-sign plate feels like a small, cheeky landmark you carry with you from the bar to the table. It is a gift for anyone who has ever wanted a little Brazil in their glassware, and the glass keeps that message in view every time it's poured.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/rj-brazil-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-RJBRZ-16OZ-front.webp?v=1793746614
