The sign's form frames the word Argentina, which takes up most of the field and sets the pace of the whole piece. There is no decorative border or secondary motif to pull the eye away, so the reading is immediate. It is the kind of composition you take in at a glance, the way a driver reads a sign at speed.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road signs are a shared public language. They tell you where you are and where you are going, and they do it in a few words. Placing a country's name on that format turns a place into a waypoint, a destination you pass on the way somewhere else. The design leans on that idea of geography as direction, with the country named plainly rather than illustrated in detail.

On the Mixing Glass

This artwork suits a tall, straight-sided vessel that wraps around the hand. The sign sits on the glass's curved surface, so it turns with each pour and is read in the moment of raising the glass. Because the design is so direct, it reads clearly from any angle you hold the glass. For someone who keeps a map on the wall or has a place in Argentina on their list, it makes a conversation starter that does its job every time it is filled.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/rp62-ar-r-argentina-road-sign-pint-glass-16oz-GMY-MIXI-RPR-16OZ-1FVKM-front.webp?v=1793605131
