rutacol-4511c-colombia-road-sign-color-changing-mug-11oz
Rutacol-4511C (Colombia) (Road Sign) Color Changing Mug 11oz

Rutacol-4511C (Colombia) (Road Sign) Color Changing Mug 11oz

This design reproduces a Colombian national route marker, a green road shield that tells drivers exactly which national highway they are on.

Visual Elements & Composition

Dark green fills almost the whole field, with a white rounded border set inside the shield's outer edge. The number 4511 sits centred in white, with the route's C code completing the marker. Flat, simple shapes and a single pairing of colours keep the sign easy to read at a glance, the same quality that makes a road shield work at highway speed.

Meaning & Symbolism

The prefix Rutacol identifies a national route in Colombia's road-signing system, so the full code reads as National Route 4511C. The number works the way highway numbers do elsewhere: it names the road without giving directions, distances or warnings. Colombia's road authorities have been updating these national-route markers under a modernization programme to improve night visibility and safety, and the green background and white lettering come from that standard. The result is a small piece of the country's modern transport infrastructure.

Designed for the Hand

A mug is turned slowly in the hands, so the shield reveals itself from every angle as you lift it. As the mug warms, the design comes up through the surface, the way a route marker appears out of the dark when headlights find it. Pour something hot and the sign shows itself, a gentle bit of cheek for the first coffee of the morning.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0703/5204/4312/files/rutacol-4511c-colombia-road-sign-color-changing-mug-11oz-GMY-MUG-RTCC-11OZ-181-front.webp?v=1794024079
